CYPHER LTI - How to make courses available to everyone everywhere

There is so much to love about the CYPHER Learning platform. One of the most popular is creating engaging courses that include gamification, a variety of assessments, competency mapping to support skills development and the ability to create courses using AI 360 with CYPHER Copilot in minutes.

What if you want to take the great courses created in CYPHER and use them on another platform?

You can with Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI). LTI is a standard that allows LTI providers to plug into an LMS. The LTI integration enables a secure launch from within the learning environment that handles user interface integration, single sign-on to the learning application, and the passing of important context information such as course, user and results information.

How LTI works

Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) is a standard developed by 1EdTech Consortium, which allows courseware and learning tools from different vendors to be launched within a learning platform. LTI is a technical standard (not a product) for integrating learning tools within an organization's learning environment.

Courses created in the CYPHER platform can be distributed into any LMS using the LTI standard.

One of the things that's unique amongst mainstream LMSs is that CYPHER is not only an LTI consumer (which means LTI tools can be embedded into CYPHER) but is also an LTI provider which means courses that are created in the CYPHER platform can be distributed to any other LMS provider that uses the LTI. This makes it easy to centralize, distribute, and scale your content.
