Here are a few steps to follow when starting out with the CYPHER platform

Customization

1 hour. Make your learning site your own! Upload your logo. Customize your color scheme, URL, portal images, panels, and social media icons. Need help? CYPHER offers expert design consulting services.

Creating admin / instructor accounts

20 minutes. This is usually easily done using our web form option for creating accounts. We also support many other kinds of account creation, such as API, LDAP, email invitations, or bulk import.

Creating content for courses

1 - 4 hours per module. This is the most time intensive part of implementation and depends on whether you want to upload your own content or create new content. Our authoring tools make it easy to customize courses. Or use CYPHER AI 360 to create a course in minutes - upload your own content or create courses based on content from the Internet!

Creating assessments for courses

1 hour per assessment. All types of assessments can be created easily. Comprehensive randomized quizzes that select from a question bank can take a little longer. Or use CYPHER AI 360 to add assessments in minutes!

Beta testing the courses

1 day per course on average. This depends on the complexity of the course. You show it to a small sample of users and then adjust it based on their recommendations where possible.

Configuring the course catalog

20 minutes. This simply requires selecting from several layout options. We recommend using attractive pictures for each catalog category, which can easily be purchased from a stock photo site.

Creating student accounts

30 minutes if using a bulk upload. We also support many other kinds of account creation, such as self sign-up, email invitations, API, LDAP, and purchasing a course via our e-commerce system.

Optional steps

Creating skills / competencies for each course - recommended

1 - 3 per course. You can create your own skills / competencies in CYPHER, choose from 3,000+ pre-loaded skills, or upload your own. Tag course content with the skills it should be teaching and assessing or use CYPHER AI 360 to automatically create and map skills to assessments to gamification.

Creating learning paths

30 minutes per learning path. Paths are courses that can have goals as sections, where each goal can represent another course or a certificate. Adding a path is fairly easy, with just a few options to configure.

Configuring e-commerce

30 minutes. Select your desired payment gateway and set prices for your courses. You can also create coupons, discount codes, bundles, subscriptions, and even sell digital media items.

Configuring single-sign on

15 minutes if using Google Workspace SSO, Auth0 or Microsoft 365.

1 hour if using LDAP/Active Directory, which requires knowledge of LDAP and the ability to configure your LDAP system to be securely accessed by CYPHER. If you want to set up custom SSO, then this requires developer skills in the language of the site you wish to integrate with.
